Minnesota Wild 2

Philadelphia Flyers 3

The Minnesota Wild started their quick two game road trip with a 3-2 loss in Philadelphia Thursday night. For Minnesota it was a second consecutive loss and the second under interim coach John Torchetti.

1. A playoff feel

The game had a must-win feel to it for both clubs. Both Minnesota and Philadelphia are chasing the second wild card spots in their respective conferences and both need victories.

A win felt especially important for the Wild, whose Friday night opponent – the Washington Capitals – lead the NHL in points.

2. Neuvirth makes big stops

Michael Neuvirth made big save after big save leading the Flyers to the victory. It started early in the game when he robbed Mikael Granlund.

Neuvirth did it again in the third taking another sure goal away from Granlund.

Then with the game on the line and 1.6 seconds on the clock in the third Neuvirth did it again.
