Robison appears to be fine after pectoral injury scare

A sigh of relief for the Vikings is blowing through Minnesota with word that defensive end Brian Robison's pectoral injury doesn't appear to be serious.

Robison injured his pectoral muscle working out last week, and although initial reports were that the injury wasn't severe, the Vikings were holding their breath until they knew for sure.

1500 ESPN reports that Robison has resumed light workouts following the scare.

Last season, the Vikings lost both right guard Brandon Fusco and right tackle Phil Loadholt to season-ending pectoral injuries. Both players tore the muscle where it appears Robison did not.

At the very least, Robison will be healthy enough to reel in some bass this weekend. He tweeted a photo of an airline ticket to a bass event in Texas. Robison is known as an avid outdoorsman.

Robison had just 4.5 sacks on 2014, but he's been a mainstay at left end for the Vikings' defense, racking up a combined 30 sacks over the past four seasons.

While he is expected to start again in 2015, the third-round selection of the uber-athletic Danielle Hunter of LSU could mean fewer snaps for Robison, both in the near and long term.
