Rookie goaltender leads Jets to shutout victory over Wild

The Minnesota Wild fell to the Winnipeg Jets 1-0 Friday night at Xcel Energy Center. The loss means the Wild have now dropped 3-of-4 to the Jets this season.

1. Rookie goaltender stands out

Winnipeg goaltender Connor Hellebuyck put together an outstanding night. He stopped all 24 shots he faced as he played for his second straight night.

But he had a lot of help, as the Wild were unable to mount much of an attack against the Jets' defense.

2. Wheeler's goal stands up

Former Gopher Blake Wheeler scored the game's only goal early in the first period. Just three minutes into the game, Wheeler made it 1-0 and that score stood the rest of the way.

3. Struggles on the power play

The Wild haven't been able to get many power play opportunities in recent games, but Friday night they had three of them.

Still, Minnesota couldn't do anything with it. The Wild were 0-for-3 on the power play.

One opportunity saw the Wild take a 6-4 man advantage in the final two minutes of the game as they pulled Devan Dubnyk. But Minnesota still struggled with the Jets.
