The one-year anniversary of Ricky Rubio's season-ending ACL tear is approaching.

On March 10, 2012, Rubio went down in a game against the L.A. Lakers -- essentially ending any playoff dreams the Timberwolves might have had last spring.

In an interview with, Rubio says he feels "pretty close" physically to where he was last year before the injury.

"I like where I'm at," Rubio told blogger Dan Devine. "It was hard when I came back from the injury, because you can do a lot of things in the gym, you can do whatever you want, but then when you hit the court, it's a different shape, you know?"

As for the current edition of the Timberwolves -- a 19-31 team decimated by injuries while Rubio recovers -- the Spanish point guard says focus is the key from now until the end of the season.

"Something I want to bring to the team is to try to be focused, 48 minutes," Rubio said. "It's hard when you don't have as many bodies as you're supposed to, but I'm going to try to do it."

And lately -- Rubio has shown flashes of his 2012 self. As Devine wrote: "At least once a game, he does something that forces you to rewind your DVR and figure out how he saw what he did."
