Ricky Rubio made two free throws to close out a 7-0 run in the final minute, allowing the Timberwolves to escape Target Center with a 90-89 victory over Memphis, Friday night.

For the first time this season the Wolves have won back-to-back games, coming from behind in the fourth quarter each time. Minnesota's victory also snapped Memphis' eight-game winning streak. Rubio finished with 17 points and made some big plays down the stretch for the Wolves.

Rubio hit a three to cut the Memphis lead to one at 89-88. Thaddeus Young then came away with a steal for Minnesota and got the ball to Rubio, who was immediately fouled by Zach Randolph – sending Rubio to the line for the two free throws with just 10.2 seconds to play.

Needing a bucket, Memphis turned it over again in the closing seconds as Andrew Wiggins stepped in the way of a pass, and put the game away for Minnesota.

Wiggins finished with a game-high 18 points, while Young added 14 points and eight rebounds.

Mike Conley, Marc Gasol and Jeff Green each had 15 points to lead the Grizzlies.

The Wolves (10-40) travel to Detroit on Sunday, before returning home Monday to face the Hawks.
