Kevin Slowey wants to be a starter in 2012, and if he stays in Minnesota he will likely get his way. Twins general manager Terry Ryan says the team considers Slowey a starter. The righthander is arbitration eligible, meaning the Twins have until December 12 to offer him a contract or he becomes a free agent.

He went 0-8 in 2011, with a 6.67 ERA in 59 1/3 innings. He started the season in the bullpen but battled forearm issues and an abdominal strain, and finished the season in the starting rotation.
