The Minnesota Twins weren't able to keep the offense going Tuesday night as they fell 6-2 to the Chicago White Sox at Target Field.

It's just the second time in the last nine meetings this season the White Sox have beaten the Twins. Chicago starter Jeff Samardzija quieted the Twins bats a night after Minnesota tallied 13 against the White Sox.

The White Sox pulled away down the stretch Tuesday night, scoring runs in each of the final four innings of the game.

Samardzija (5-4) held Minnesota to two runs on eight hits, while striking out seven to pick up the victory.

Mike Pelfrey (5-4) pitched well for the Twins, but appeared to run out of gas in the seventh inning. He gave up the go-ahead single to Melky Cabrera in the seventh to score Jose Abreu, giving the White Sox the lead.

Cabrera was 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, and Abreu finished 4-for-5 with to runs scored to lead the White Sox at the plate.

Minnesota took the early lead on a home run from Eddie Rosario – his fourth of the season. Rosario finished the night 1-for-4.

Nearly every Twins player had a hit in the game, but Joe Mauer was the only one with two of them. He led the way, finishing 2-for-4.

But the Twins couldn't turn that into runs as they were just 1-for-5 with runners in scoring position.

The two teams will wrap the series up Wednesday afternoon at Target Field when Phil Hughes takes the mound for the Twins against White Sox ace Chris Sale.
