Minnesota native Sammy Schmitz wrapped up his first round at Augusta National on Thursday afternoon. The front-nine was kind to the Farmington native, who was shooting even-par.

But the back-nine was not as friendly. Schmitz bogeyed holes 11, 12, 14, 15 and 16 and doubled-bogeyed: 10 and 13.

Perhaps the highlight of the day was when Schmitz took off his shoes to hit out of a bunker.
