Sano's days in the outfield appear to be in the rear-view mirror

Earlier this offseason the Minnesota Twins tried to convert Miguel Sano from third baseman to right field. After some roughmoments in the outfield, Twins manager Paul Molitor says he'll only play there in an emergency, according to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.

After the Twins acquired Byung-Ho Park in the offseason, some thought the Twins would make Trevor Plouffe available via trade.

Instead, the Twins kept Plouffe around and moved Sano to the outfield so his bat would still be in the lineup every day, while Park could be the designated hitter.

With Park now at Triple-A Rochester, Sano can slide back into the positions he's used to. Molitor could still stick Sano in the outfield in a pinch, but it appears the experiment is over.

Sano will be hitting third and playing third base on Friday night after rejoining the Twins following a sting on the 15 day disabled list.
