Seahawks won't know Harvin's status until midweek

Percy Harvin has always had a problem staying on the field, whether sporting a Minnesota Vikings or Seattle Seahawks jersey.

The issues have gotten worse lately for Harvin, as he missed seven of Minnesota's games last year with an ankle injury and played in just one regular season game for Seattle this season while recovering from offseason hip surgery.

Sunday, Harvin returned for Seattle's playoff matchup with New Orleans, but just as quickly as he stepped on the field, he was heading to the locker room with what appeared to be a head injury after a big hit.

Harvin would return, but would plant his head into the turf while jumping for a Russell Wilson pass in the endzone, remaining down for several seconds. After his second head injury, he would not return and would be diagnosed with a concussion.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said today that his receiver's status would not be known until Wednesday or Thursday, as he will have to pass the NFL's concussion protocol in order to play in the NFC Championship game against San Francisco Sunday in Seattle.

The Seahawks opened as 3.5-point favorites yesterday.
