The Minnesota Lynx and Seimone Augustus announced a one-year contract extension that will put her back on the floor at Target Center for a 14th year in 2019.
Lynx, an eight-time All-Star and 2011 WNBA Finals MVP, has averaged 16.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists during her career.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be re-signing with the only place I’ve called home in the WNBA,” said Augustus in a release from the team. “Being a member of this franchise means a lot to me and my family and I’m ready to continue what we’ve built here; and that’s a championship group.”
Augustus has been a member of all four Lynx championship teams.
“Seimone Augustus epitomizes what it means to be a Minnesota Lynx,” head coach Cheryl Reeve said.. “She’s the most loyal and committed player in franchise history and has provided many thrills for Lynx and WNBA fans throughout the years."
Augustus averaged 10.8 points per game last season, but could have a much bigger role this season since Lindsay Whalen retired and Maya Moore's future is still up in the air.
