MPR is reporting that the city's mayor and business leaders will make their pitch Wednesday at the Capitol. The move comes a bit late in the game; Gov. Dayton wants stadium proposals turned in by Thursday. A supporter says the Shakopee option would cost just over $900 million, and that proceeds from casino games at Canterbury Park would help fund the public's share.

Dayton doubts latest plan to pay for Vikings stadium

With stadium proposals in, next move will be Dayton's
Stadium proposals landed on Mark Dayton's desk Thursday and the governor says he may pick a favorite next week. Republicans float open-air Vikings stadium proposal
The latest proposal lowers the state's stadium contribution by eliminating the roof, at least for now. The roof-ready structure would still be in downtown Minneapolis and financing would be added to the bonding bill. Gov. Mark Dayton called the idea an end-of-the-session "gimmick."
