Should the Twins call up Kyle Gibson?

With an 18-22 record, and a pitching staff that has a combined 4.47 ERA, how long can the Twins hold out before adding Rochester's Kyle Gibson to the starting rotation?

In a Triple-A game against Lehigh Valley Sunday, Gibson took a no-hitter into the eighth inning, and finished with a three-hit complete game shutout in an 11-0 Red Wings victory.

"I was forcing the action and making them swing the bat early," Gibson told "I felt pretty good there toward the end."

It was Gibson's second complete-game shutout in 11 days, lowering his ERA to 3.25.

The problem the Twins might have right now in calling Gibson up is his consistency.

Gibson's record is 3-5 in nine starts in Rochester. In his previous start to Sunday's game, he gave up four runs on seven hits, and didn't make it out of the fourth inning.

"His stuff is plenty good," Twins assistant general manager Rob Anthony told ESPN 1500. "Now we're just looking for him to perform consistently, so that when the opportunity comes, he's in position to get his chance."
