Something fishy: Wisconsin Anglers caught way over ND walleye limit

Five southeastern Wisconsin men are facing hefty fines after North Dakota authorities say they were caught way over the state's walleye limit.

North Dakota Game and Fish officials say the quintet – Donald Klatkiewicz, Daniel Klatkiewicz, Michael Wirkus, Allen Lafave, and Robert Richer Jr. – were 100 walleyes over their limit, Valley News Live reports. A juvenile was also with the group.

The Grand Forks Herald reports authorities say a search of the group's vehicle and rental house turned up a total of 160 walleyes from Devils Lake, most of which were cleaned and frozen. The walleye daily limit in North Dakota is five, and the possession limit is 10.

WCCO reports a call to a poacher tip line led to the discovery, officials say. Each adult is charged in Ramsey County and faces more than $1,700 in fines.
