Soul Asylum, Big Head Todd lead Skyline Music Festival lineup at Target Field

Twin Cities-based rockers Soul Asylum, along with Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Matthew Sweet, and the Gear Daddies are set to play the Skyline Music Festival July 26 at Target Field, the Twins and radio partner K-Twin announced Thursday.

Dubbed the "The LP Tour," three of the acts will perform their hit albums in their entirety.

Soul Asylum will perform all of its songs from its triple platinum album "Grave Dancers Union," which features the hits "Somebody to Shove," "Black Gold" and "Runaway Train," which earned a Grammy Award in 1993 for Best Rock Song.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters, meanwhile, will perform all of "Sister Sweetly, which launched the hits "Bittersweet," "Broken Hearted Savior" and "Circle"; while Sweet will play all of "Girlfriend," which includes the hit singles "Divine Intervention" and "Girlfriend."

Based out of Austin, Minn., Gear Daddies will be playing various hits including "Boys Will be Boys" and "Zamboni."

Gates will open for the event at 4:30 p.m., and the music will go on to 10:30 p.m.

"A chance to enjoy Minnesota's amazing hometown sounds under the summer sky in the middle of downtown Minneapolis is not to be missed," said Sam Elliot Gagliardi, senior vice president of Northern Lights Broadcasting and general manager of 96.3 K-TWIN, in a press release.
