Sox vs. Twins: Pelfrey on hill in series finale

MINNEAPOLIS -- Twins right-hander Mike Pelfrey is headed in the right direction.

In his last two starts, he's lasted six innings -- which he failed to do in his first five starts of the season.

Thanks to decent run support, Pelfrey has a 3-3 record despite a 6.03 ERA. He should be 4-3, but Pelfrey -- along with the Twins bullpen -- gave up six straight runs to the Orioles last Friday night turning a 6-0 lead into a 9-6 loss.

At Target Field today, Pelfrey faces a much tamer lineup -- the Chicago White Sox, who will try to win two straight games for the first time in almost two weeks.

The Sox are coming off a 4-2 win over the Twins Tuesday night, backed by a solid outing by starter Jake Peavy. Today, Chicago sends Dylan Axelrod to the mound. He doesn't have a victory yet this season (0-3, 4.17), and is coming off a rough outing -- giving up six runs over six innings to the L.A. Angels in his last start.

As for the Twins starting lineup, Jamey Carroll gets the call at second base, giving Brian Dozier a rest. Trevor Plouffe also get the day off, with Eduardo Escobar at third:
