Another weekend of local sports in the books and if you missed any of the action, we have you covered with the top 10 sports stories over the last 48-72 hours.

10. The Minnesota Swarm are off to a 1-4 start to the season after losing to the Calgary Roughnecks 15-13 on Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center.

9. The Gophers wrestling team has a chance to become the new No. 1 team in the country after they upset top-ranked Penn State, 18-17 Sunday at the Sports Pavilion. Two-time defending national champion Tony Nelson clinched the win with a victory in the heavyweight bout.

8. The Gophers women's hockey team outscored Bemidji State 16-3 in a weekend sweep at Ridder Arena. Minnesota stretched its unbeaten streak to 16 games.

7. It's all bad for the Timberwolves right now. Kevin Love, Nikola Pekovic and Kevin Martin – arguably their three best players – are all battling injuries. Saturday's loss to the Trail Blazers was their fourth straight. They host the Rockets tonight.

6. Minnesota Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher will consider trade options during the Olympic break. A trade freeze in in effect until Feb. 24 and the NHL's trade deadline hits March 5.

5. The Gophers men's basketball team earned a hard-fought win over Indiana on Saturday at Williams Arena. Final score, 66-60.

4. The Gophers men's hockey team was swept by the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison. It was the first sweep of the Gophers in nearly three years.

3. Vikings general manager Rick Spielman announced over the weekend that he very well could end up wheeling and dealing draft picks this year.

2. Star Tribune columnist Patrick Reusse blogged his thoughts on the quality of the University of Minnesota's athletic programs. He's very pleased with every head coach.

1. Five current and former lady Gophers helped Team USA's women's hockey squad beat Team Finland in the opening round of the Winter Olympics.
