Spring training: Boston beats Twins; Pelfrey has 7.45 ERA
Mike Pelfrey's fourth start of spring training didn't go very well on Thursday. He gave up five runs in two innings and the Twins lost to the Red Sox, 7-3.
Pelfrey's spring ERA is up to 7.45, but manager Ron Gardenhire says he isn't worried because the right-hander is still in the early stages of his comeback from Tommy John surgery.
"He hasn't been out there in 10 months. So he just has to find it. But I have no concerns. None."
Anthony Swarzak and Scott Diamond are nearing returns from injury. Swarzak felt good after throwing a bullpen session and left-hander Scott Diamond through live batting practice on Thursday. Diamond might only miss a week or two of the regular season.
