The St. Paul Saints' new ballpark has a name.

The ballpark, which is currently under construction in Lowertown, will be called CHS Field, the Saints and CHS Inc. announced Monday.

CHS Inc. is an agriculture cooperative headquartered in Inver Grove Heights. CHS President and CEO Carl Casale says the company is better known for its brands, including Cenex fuel, and hopes the stadium name will boost the public's awareness of the company, according to MPR News.

“If there’s anything more American than agriculture and baseball, I don’t know what those two things are,” Casale said in a news conference announcing the naming rights deal.

The Saints have vowed to bring to the new stadium all the silly antics and affordable fun that their games are known for.

“It’s a rare and wonderful thing when core values align so closely as with the Saints and CHS. Both companies have left their footprint in the Twin Cities for a long time and now we can make a meaningful impact together,” Saints owner and president Mike Veeck said at the news conference.

St. Paul Saints Chairman Marv Goldklang, Vice President Jeff Goldklang and St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman all attended Monday's announcement, KSTP reports.

CHS Field is expected to bring 400,000 people per year to St. Paul, WCCO saysConstruction is underway on the Saints' new $27 million, 7,000-seat ballpark downtown, which is set to open next year. You can follow construction progress on a live webcam or on the project Facebook page.

CHS hasn't said how much they are paying for naming rights.

CHS is the nation's largest co-op. It reported earnings of $379 million in its most recent quarter on revenue of nearly $12 billion, the Pioneer Press reports.

Last week, CHS announced plans to build a $3 billion fertilizer manufacturing plant in Spiritwood, North Dakota – the single largest investment in the company's history and the single largest private investment ever undertaken in the state.
