Eric Staal is playing like a star again and Luke Kunin looks like the next big thing for the Wild.

Both scored shorthanded goals in the Wild's 6-4 win over the Islanders in St. Paul Thursday night. Staal's came first and was part of a three-goal rush in the span of 150 seconds in the first period.

For the 19-year-old Kunin, it was his first career goal – and he got in on a one-time pass from Staal (second video below).

Kunin is the first player in Wild history to net a shorty for his first career goal.

"It felt awesome. It's obviously a dream come true," Kunin said, via Wild.com. "You dream about scoring a goal in the NHL and it was awesome to get it and get the win, the first win of the year in front of this awesome crowd. It's definitely a game I'll always remember."

Zack Mitchell also scored his first career goal for Minnesota. Other goal scorers: Jason Zucker, Marcus Foligno and Jonas Brodin.

The Wild are now 3-3-2 (8 points) but remain in last place in the Central Division, but only 7 points behind division leader St. Louis.
