Stars shoot down Wild's winning streak

The Dallas Stars snapped the Wild's two-game winning streak by blasting them in "Big D" by a final score of 4-1. Niklas Backstrom had been fantastic in his last two starts, but was pulled early in the second period after allowing three goals on 14 shots.

The Dallas Stars snapped the Wild's two-game winning streak by blasting them in "Big D" by a final score of 4-1. Niklas Backstrom had been fantastic in his last two starts, but was pulled early in the second period after allowing three goals on 14 shots.

Matt Hackett replaced Backstrom and stopped all ten shots he faced. Devin Setoguchi scored the Wild's only goal, his 15th of the season.

Niklas Backstrom had 33 saves through overtime, but was beaten twice in the shootout to give the Stars (27-22-2) their 2-1 victory. The Wild (25-19-8) will wrap up their three-game road trip on Tuesday in Columbus.

With Backstrom hurting, Wild recall Hackett

Goalie Matt Hackett is back with the Wild. He was recalled from Houston today to replace Niklas Backstrom, who was injured in last night’s shootout loss to Montreal. Hackett will back up Josh Harding, who will likely start in goal tonight in Detroit.
