The 2013 baseball state tournament came to a close with a rousing victory by Mounds View over Rocori, 8-0 in the Class 3A championship game Monday afternoon.

Pioneer Press player of the year Max Knutson struck out nine to lead Mounds View. Sam Hentges provided the offense, finishing a home run short of the cycle.

Logan Sandgren tossed a one-hitter Thursday to lead BOLD to the Class 1A baseball championship, 3-0, over Osakis Monday at Target Field.

Sandgren came into the title game by throwing two consecutive no-hitters.

The first was in the sectional title game. Sandgren followed it up with a no-hitter in BOLD’s 13-0 victory over the 1A top seed Wabasha-Kellogg last Thursday at the Mini Met in Jordan.

In the 2A title game, Kasson-Mantorville clobbered Perham, 8-1.
