Class 1A

Maranatha Christian 75, Moutain Iron-Buhl 74

Jayzryn Thompson's put back with three seconds remaining ended a wild Class 1A semifinal game that saw Maranatha Christian Academy advance to the state championship.

Thompson's bucket, her only one of the game, led Maranatha Christian to a 75-74 overtime victory over Mountain Iron-Buhl.

It came just seconds after Mountain Iron-Buhl's Allie Negen sank three free-throws to put the Rangers back on top.

Alaina Jarnot led the way for Maranatha with 21 points, while Chelsea Mason led the Rangers with 17.

Maranatha Christian advances to the Class 1A championship against top seed Goodhue at Williams Arena.

Goodhue 74, Wheaton/Herman-Norcross 35

Top-seeded Goodhue cruised through the Class 1A semifinals Friday beating No. 5 Wheaton/Herman-Norcross 74-35 at Williams Arena.

Maddy Miller led the Wildcats with 24 points, while Sydney Lodermeier added 18.

The victory means Goodhue will return to the Class A championship game for the first time since 2010, when they fell to Barnum. They will meet up with Maranatha Christian at Williams Arena.

Class 2A

New London-Spicer 49, #2 Sauk Centre 46

New London-Spicer has one of the richest traditions in Minnesota girls' basketball history. The Wildcats will return to the state championship Saturday, they beat #2 Sauk Centre 49-46.

The Wildcats will meet up with Plainview-Elgin-Millville in the 2A championship Saturday.

Plainview-Elgin-Millville 87, Roseau 78

Plainview-Elgin-Millville is advancing to the state Class 2A championship on Saturday after they beat Roseau 87-78 Friday evening at Williams Arena.

Hayley Dessner scored 23 points and Chole Holtz added 20 to lead the Bulldogs.

Kiley Borowicz tried to put the Rams on her back, she finished the evening with 35 points, but it wasn't enough.

The Bulldogs will meet up with New London-Spicer in the state championship on Saturday.
