Sun snap a losing skid by stealing one from the Lynx late

The Minnesota Lynx let it slip away in overtime as they fell to the Connecticut Sun 78-77 Wednesday afternoon at Target Center.

The Lynx were without All-Star guard Lindsay Whalen against her former team. She missed the game with an eye injury, snapping her streak of 106 consecutive games started. Whalen was poked in the eye in Sunday's win over Tulsa.

Connecticut's Camille Little knocked down a 15-foot jumper with eight seconds to play in overtime, giving the Sun the one point lead.

Minnesota had a last-second opportunity, but Maya Moore's jumper didn't go and the Lynx came up short.

The Lynx also had a chance to win the game at the end of regulation, but were hurt when Shekinna Stricklen connected a big shot with two seconds remaining to force overtime.

Moore led Minnesota with 25 points (20 in the second half), but she was just 9-of-32 shooting on the afternoon. Rebekkah Brunson had a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. She also finished with three steals and three assists.

Stricklen was big off the bench for the Sun, scoring 15 points.

The victory for the Sun ended a six-game losing streak. The Lynx go into the All-Star break with the WNBA's best record at 12-4.

Moore, Whalen and Seimone Augustus were named All-Stars, although Augustus is out with a knee injury and Whalen's status for the game is unknown.
