Olympic gymnast Suni Lee will compete on Dancing with the Stars this fall.
Lee, who hails from St. Paul, is the Olympic all-around champion in women’s gymnastics after winning gold in Tokyo last month. She also took home a silver in the team final and a bronze in uneven bars.
Dancing with the Stars announced that Lee would be a contestant Thursday. The 30th season of the show will start on Sep. 20.
Lee is set to compete at Auburn University this upcoming school year. According to USA Today, she will attend classes virtually in the fall while she trains for the show. She will return to campus to compete in January.
Other Olympic gymnasts to compete on the show include Lee's Olympic teammate Simone Biles and Laurie Hernandez.
Lee is the first Hmong gymnast to qualify for the Olympics, and her win made her the first Asian American woman to win gold in the all-around. The City of St. Paul celebrated her victory with a welcome parade earlier this month.
The full cast of the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, along with Lee’s dancing partner, have yet to be announced. The show did announce that Youtube personality JoJo Siwa would also compete alongside Lee.
