Take me out to the food truck--Minnesota Twins have a crackerjack idea

Ever have a crazy craving for a Twins Dog when it's not a game day at Target Field? As soon as next month, you may be able to indulge in all the staples that Twins baseball fans gorge and guzzle on while cheering in the stands.

The Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal reports the Twins are getting in on the food-truck craze by creating one of their own. It will feature ballpark treats like bratwursts and Polish sausages. Chili from The Loon Café and nachos could also be for sale. (What, no sliders?)

Twins Senior Vice President of Operations Matt Hoy called the food truck "an extension of our brand," existing to feed the community's love of the team as well as fill their stomachs. Players and mascot T.C. Bear will sometimes sling chow, and an on-board radio will broadcast games.

"We will be on the street with the other food trucks," Hoy told BringMeTheNews. "We will compete for the lunch crowd."

But the truck won't be limited to downtown Minneapolis.

"We plan to take it all over, out to festivals and community events. It's wide open," Hoy added.

He said it's possible the truck will be pressed into service for the Twins Caravan, the team's annual off season trek to towns around the region.

The truck is tentatively named “Taste of Target Field.”

Really? Not "Home Plate?"
