The Minnesota Timberwolves earned the first win of the Chris Finch era on Thursday night as they crushed the New Orleans Pelicans by a score of 135-105.
Although the Pelicans built a 16-point lead early, the Timberwolves were able to fight back thanks to the effort from their bench.
Jaden McDaniels' performance was key as the rookie made his first eight shots to score 20 points.
After taking a 67-60 lead into halftime, the rest of the Minnesota bench joined in to blow the game open in the third quarter. The Wolves' bench combined for a total of 72 points on the night including a game-high 28 points from Jaylen Nowell and 15 points from Naz Reid.
With the bench having its best game of the season, the starting lineup took control of the game. Anthony Edwards scored 25 points as the Timberwolves snapped a nine-game losing streak.
The Timberwolves improved to 8-29 on the season and will host the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night.
