Timberwolves hire Wizards executive Newton as general manager

After working for 10 years in the Washington Wizards organization, Milt Newton has been hired by the Timberwolves as their new general manager.

Newton worked with the man who hired him, Wolves Director of Basketball Operations Flip Saunders, in Washington when Flip was the head coach of the Wizards.

Newton was a forward for legendary coach Larry Brown at Kansas, before playing professionally in Belgium and Australia.

Prior to executive duties with Washington, he worked in the NBA Developmental League.
