The Timberwolves were simply no match for the defending NBA champion Spurs as San Antonio cruised to a 123-101 victory Saturday night in San Antonio.

The Spurs (15-5) are on a hot streak right now, according to the Associated Press, having won 10 of their past 11 games, and five in a row at home. They were led by Marco Belinelli with 20 points and Tim Duncan, who had 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The Wolves (4-15), meanwhile, have lost five straight. Despite 22 points from Zach LaVine and 20 from Shabazz Muhammad, Minnesota couldn't keep up with the Spurs' offense.

The Timberwolves were playing their second game in two nights, without five injured players. San Antonio starters Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker also sat out the game, but the Spurs didn't seem to be slowed down by their absence.

Thad Young and Anthony Bennett each scored 14 for Minnesota as well.

It was the Wolves’ 10th double-figure loss and their fourth by 20 or more points, according to the Star Tribune.

The Wolves host Golden State on Monday.
