Memphis Grizzlies 114

Minnesota Timberwolves 106

The Timberwolves haven't won a game yet this season on their home court at Target Center, as they lost to the visiting Grizzlies 114-106 Sunday afternoon.

1. Grizzlies shot well

Jeff Green scored a season-high 21 points, and Mike Conley had 20 to lead Memphis to the win, the Star Tribune reports. All told, six Memphis players scored in double figures and the team shot a season-high 56.3 percent from the field; they have the worst shooting percentage in the league.

“We’ve got to work on our defense,” said Wolves interim coach Sam Mitchell after the game.

2. Youngsters led the way

Zach LaVine scored 25 points as he started in place of Ricky Rubio, who is still out with an injury. Andrew Wiggins scored 21 and Karl-Anthony Towns had 14 points and nine rebounds, according to the Star Tribune. But their youth showed late in the game, as the Wolves turned the ball over six times in the fourth quarter.

3. Home is not too sweet right now

The Wolves are 0-5 so far at home this season, and have lost their fourth straight game. That's their worst start at home since 1994, when the team lost its first 10 home games, the Associated Press reports.

4. Player notes

Rubio has now missed four games with a strained left hamstring, and there's no timetable yet for his return, according to the Associated Press.

Kevin Garnett has become the fifth player in NBA history to play at least 50,000 minutes in his career. He played 24 minutes Sunday afternoon, scoring eight points.

The other players who reached that milestone are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Jason Kidd and Elvin Hayes.
