Detroit Pistons 115
The Minnesota Timberwolves ended 2015 with a blowout. But they were on the losing end of it, as they fell to the Detroit Pistons 115-90 Thursday night.
1 Done in by Drummond, Jackson
Andre Drummond led the Pistons with 23 points and 18 rebounds, while point guard Reggie Jackson scored 19 points and had nine assists. Drummond looked headed for 20-point, 20-rebound night but the lopsided score meant he headed to the bench for garbage time.
2 Disappearing defense
A strong start by Minnesota saw the Timberwolves leading at the end of the first quarter, 22-15. But the Pistons scored at least 30 points in each of the next three quarters.
3 Towns & Wiggins lead Wolves again
This being the second game in as many nights for the Wolves, they gave Kevin Garnett the night off. As usual, they leaned on their youngsters. Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Andrew Wiggins scored 21.
