Six weeks down, two to go in the regular season. It's amazing that the prep football season is as close to the finish line as it is. In this week's rankings, KFAN's Joe Nelson finds a new team in his top five.

Hey everyone, it's Joe Nelson from FM 100.3's Friday Night Scoreboard. There hasn't been a lot of action in my top five this season, but I'm doing the best I can to find a team capable of surprising the state's top teams. I think I found one this week.

1. Eden Prairie (6-0)
The Eagles shouldn't have any trouble beating Edina this week, but next Wednesday is a possible preview of the state championship game. It's Eden Prairie vs. Wayzata... Awesome.

2. Wayzata (6-0)
See above...

3. Cretin Derham-Hall (6-0)
This is a well-balanced team that continues to improve. The Raiders have allowed double-digit points in a game only once this season.

4. Lakeville North (6-0)
I thought Lakeville South was the better team in Lakeville, but I was dead wrong. South was destroyed by North, 30-6. I've been searching for a team like this all year long, and they could be a dark horse state championship contender.

5. Mounds View (5-1)
The Mustangs have put together a nice four game winning streak. Their last two victories were against tough opponents, Stillwater and White Bear Lake.

We're three weeks into the high school football season and some of the state's top teams continue to dominate. Last week, FM 100.3 KFAN's Joe Nelson flip-flopped his top two teams, this week he did some more shuffling within his top five.

The most impressive win last week was Wayzata's blowout win over Minnetonka, but it wasn't quite enough to launch the Trojans to No. 1.
