Multiple beat reporters for the Minnesota Twins are confirming that the team will be promoting 21-year old Puerto Rican pitching prospect Jose Berrios and he'll start Wednesday against Cleveland. Berrios himself also appears to have confirmed his debut on Twitter.

According a Facebook post made by Berrios and translated from Spanish by beat reporters, the right-hander could be making his MLB debut as early as tomorrow, in the final game of the Twins' three-day home stand against the Cleveland Indians.

In 17 innings pitched with the AAA Rochester Red Wings this season, Berrios has posted a 1.06 ERA with 20 strikeouts and 2 wins, according to Baseball Reference. Last year, Berrios pitched for 6 wins in 75 innings with a 2.62 ERA and 83 strikeouts.

According to a recent piece from Forbes, Berrios has clocked a 96 mph fastball, and by waiting 24 days into the season, the Twins have ensured that Berrio's playing time this year will not be counted towards his contract as a "full service year," per MLB rules.
