New Orleans Pelicans 116

Minnesota Timberwolves 102

The Minnesota Timberwolves stumbled Monday night, falling to the New Orleans Pelicans 116-102 at Target Center.

1. Pelicans bench leads the way

The Wolves couldn't do much to stop the second unit of the Pelicans Monday night. While Minnesota's second team made things look a little better with the game out of hand in the fourth quarter, the results from the first half tell the story.

Jrue Holiday led the way for New Orleans. He scored 27 and was a plus 26 on the night. Ryan Anderson chipped in 26 points, 24 of which came in the second half.

2. No stopping Davis

With the game one-sided, the Pelicans were able to give Anthony Davis some rest. He played just 31 minutes, but while he was on the floor Minnesota couldn't stop him.

Davis finished the night with 27 points and eight boards.

3. Towns posts record-tying double-double

When he was in Minnesota, many fans and those around the NBA referred to Kevin Love as a double-double machine. Well, he will have to move over by the end of the season.

Minnesota rookie Karl-Anthony Towns scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, for another double-double – his 29th of the season, tying Love's rookie record.
