The Vikings dropped their second game of the season with a 14-7 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday. To make matters worse, they may have lost rookie running back Dalvin Cook to a significant knee injury.

After a lethargic start for both teams, the Vikings would get on the board late in the second quarter. Minnesota orchestrated an 11-play, 81-yard drive that ended with a rushing touchdown from Cook and the Vikings led 7-3 heading into halftime.

Unfortunately, Minnesota fumbled on their first and second drives of the second half and Detroit took advantage, hitting a field goal and a touchdown, taking a 14-7 lead heading into the final quarter.

Case Keenum was able to lead the offense deep into enemy territory twice, but, Kai Forbath missed a 39-yard field goal and then the team turned the ball over on downs.

Minnesota would get one more shot with under two-minutes to go, but wide receiver Adam Thielen fumbled, putting Detroit in victory formation to secure the win. It was third lost fumble of the game for the Vikings.

The defensive line did a great job of pressuring Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford all game long, racking up six sacks.

But Minnesota's offense accumulated just 284 yards on Sunday.

With the loss, the Vikings are 2-2 on the season and will travel to Chicago next Monday evening to take on the Bears.
