Twins' big inning makes winner of Diamond, 5-3 over White Sox

Josh Willingham's bases loaded double was the key blow in a four-run seventh inning, as the Twins downed the White Sox 5-3 in Chicago Sunday.

Aaron Hicks also singled in a run in the decisive inning, as the Twins won their fourth straight.

Pitcher Scott Diamond worked six innings and allowed just two runs, one of them earned, gaining his first victory to go with one loss.

Willingham's three RBIs helped make up for an earlier misplay in left field. He misjudged a line drive that led to one of the White Sox's runs.

Hicks now has three hits on the season but they've been good for 4 RBIs. Jamey Carroll had two hits and scored twice while batting in the leadoff spot. Glen Perkins pitched a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts to earn his fifth save.

The Twins used Oswaldo Arcia in right field. Chris Parmalee sat out the game a day after taking a fastball off his right elbow.

The Twins now welcome Miami to the winter wonderland of Target Field for interleague games Monday night and Tuesday afternoon. The temperature may crack 40 Monday, but rain and snow are in the forecast.
