Justin Morneau blasted his second home run of the season and Joe Mauer finished with three hits as the Twins beat the Yankees, 7-3 Monday night in the Bronx. Carl Pavano pitched seven strong innings, earning his first win of the season.

Mauer finished 3-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Jamey Carroll, Josh Willingham, Danny Valencia, Ryan Doumit and Clete Thomas all drove in a run as well.

The Twins got on the board with two runs in the first inning, but the Yankees came right back with three runs in the bottom half of the inning, including back-to-back home runs from Derek Jeter and Curtis Granderson to start the game.

Glen Perkins didn't make the trip with the team. He has irritation in his forearm and will remain in Minnesota until at least Wednesday. General manager Terry Ryan says Perkins is "day-to-day."
