Twins eat Crowe as Trevor, Houston walk off with 6-5 win

Today's matinee between Houston and Minnesota was starting to resemble the first game of their series in The Lone Star State.

Jumping out to an early 3-0 lead, Houston looked sure to lock up a victory against the suddenly competent Twins, but much like Monday they let it go.

Minnesota came back to tie it at three in the third on Alex Presley's first home run as a Twin, and Houston put two more across in the middle innings to take a two run lead into the eighth.

A Darrin Mastroianni RBI groundout in the same frame cut the deficit to one, and a Ryan Doumit homer in the ninth tied it up, once again shaming a Houston pitching staff that gave up a four run lead Monday.

Brian Duensing came in to try to get the Twins to extra innings so they could have a chance to win it there, but could only get one out before Trevor Crowe ensured Wednesday would not end like Monday, knocking in the game winning run on a walk off single to left and a 6-5 victory.

Duensing (6-2) took the loss, while starter-turned-innings-eating-reliever Erik Bedard (4-10) picked up the win after blowing the save, his second blown save in three appearances. Minnesota took five of six in the season series from Houston.

Twins are off tomorrow before resuming play at home against Toronto on Friday evening.
