Twins launch massive social media campaign urging fans to Vote Dozier

The Twins have launched a massive social media campaign pushing baseball fans and Minnesotans to help vote Brian Dozier into next week's All-Star Game.

The All-Star Game is being played next week in Cincinnati and despite leading all American League second basemen in most major offensive categories, Dozier was left off the A.L. roster.

He now is one of five American League players vying for the final roster spot. The others are Detroit's Yoenis Cespedes, Boston's Xander Bogaerts, New York's Brett Gardner, and Kansas City's Mike Moustakas.

Just hours after finding out that he was snubbed from the roster, Dozier hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Twins a 4-2 series-opening victory over the Orioles Monday night.

So his teammates responded on Tuesday by showing their support for their second baseman. Each of the Twins wore white #VoteDozier T-shirts during batting practice on Tuesday.

Dozier participated in last year's All Star festivities at Target Field as a contestant in the Home Run Derby, but did not play in the game.

There are a few ways fans can vote for Dozier. They can vote online at (link will take you to the ballot). They also can vote via text message by typing A3 to 89269 and on Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. you can also vote on Twitter by Tweeting #VoteDozier.
