Toronto Blue Jays 3

Minnesota Twins 1

The Twins could not manage to beat the Blue Jays twice in a row this weekend, losing 3-1 on Sunday following Saturday's win. They also lost to Toronto on Thursday and Friday. Sunday's game was uneventful – all four runs were scored in the first two innings and the Twins only had three hits the entire game.

1. The early bird gets the worm

The Blue Jays' early runs gave them an advantage. The first two batters at the plate hit homeruns off Phil Hughes in the first inning. Then one walk and base hit later, the Blue Jays had a 3-0 lead. Fans expressed their frustration on Twitter:

2. Second inning scrap run

The Twins scraped together a run in the second inning to bring the score to 3-1. Outfielder Robbie Grossman was walked, and then Oswaldo Arcia's double brought him to third base. Kurt Suzuki's groundout brought Grossman home. Neither team scored for the rest of the game.

3. Suzuki joins 1,000 club

Even though the Twins lost, fans still got to see a bit of history at Target Field on Sunday. Catcher Kurt Suzuki's single to right field in the eighth inning was the 1,000th hit of his career. Suzuki started his career playing for the Oakland A's in 2007, and joined the Twins in 2014.
