Twins schedule MRI for Carl Pavano's sore shoulder

Minnesota Twins pitcher Carl Pavano is returning to Minneapolis Sunday to meet with the team's physician, and then will have an MRI exam done on his sore right shoulder Monday. Pavano gave up seven runs and nine hits in 3 2-3 innings against the Cleveland Indians Friday. Pavano's MRI on May 11 revealed a strain in the front of his right shoulder.

Luke Hughes has a sprained right shoulder

The Twins estimate the infielder will need three to four weeks before he's ready to play. The Star Tribune reports Hughes was injured during a home-plate collision in the Australian winter league semifinals. The Twins have their spring training home opener in Fort Myers, Florida on March 3.
