Just two days before the All-Star break, the Twins announced Saturday that first baseman C.J. Cron has been placed on the 10-day injured list.

Cron is dealing with right thumb inflammation. He'll miss games Saturday and Sunday and then miss the Cleveland series next Friday-Sunday after the All-Star break.

He'll be eligible to return from the injured list when the Twins host the Mets for two games at Target Field July 15-16.

Cron has put up big numbers in his first season with the Twins, slashing .266/.326/.495 with 17 home runs, 18 doubles and 54 RBI. Prior to his thumb issue, he was on pace to finish the season with 32 homers and 101 RBI.

Outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr. has been recalled from Triple-A Rochester.

Cron went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles in Minnesota's 15-6 win over the Rangers Friday night. Minnesota takes on the Rangers again Saturday at 1:10 p.m.
