The Minnesota Twins have placed outfielder Aaron Hicks on the seven-day disabled list after he left Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, with concussion-like symptoms.

Hicks sustained the injury while trying to catch a deep fly ball from Scott Van Slyke and hit his head on the wall during the second game of a split doubleheader at Target Field.

Van Slyke ended up on third base after the ball went off Hicks' glove. He remained on the ground for several minutes after the play.

Hicks remained in the game after the play, but left the game when he was pinch-hit for in the seventh inning.

According to the Associated Press, the Twins have re-called left-handed pitcher Logan Darnell from Triple-A Rochester.

Darnell, who was originally drafted by the Twins in the sixth round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft, has had a strong start to the season at Rochester. Darnell has made four starts for the Red Wings, posting a 1.69 ERA with 21 strikeouts and seven walks.

He will be in uniform for Friday night's game against Baltimore.
