Ortiz powers Red Sox over Correia and Twins

After 2002 the Minnesota Twins had seen enough of David Ortiz. The oft-injured designated hitter and first baseman hit 20 home runs and drove in 75, during his final season in Minnesota.

He was off to Boston in 2003 and the rest has been history.

So after two more home runs again on Wednesday night the Twins have probably really seen enough of "Big Papi." He led the Red Sox to a 9-4 win at Target Field.

Ortiz was 3 for 5 on the day with two home runs and a double. Those home runs were his third and fourth of the series, there is still a game Thursday.

It was another disappointing start for Kevin Correia (1-5). He gave up five runs on nine hits in just four innings.

The Red Sox got to Correia quickly, he gave up two runs in the first and two more in the third to put the Twins in a 4-0 hole.

Trevor Plouffe led the Twins offensively. He was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. Brian Dozier and Eduardo Nunez each had two hits.

The Twins and Red Sox finish the series on Thursday.
