Twins roundup: Willing to offer Arroyo 3 years; Capuano, Floyd draw interest

A few notes on the Twins pursuit of some semblance of a decent pitcher.

Bronson Arroyo, who last time we heard had talked to Minnesota a couple of times, is still a target of Minnesota's and they're reportedly ready to offer the 36-year old a three-year deal.

Arroyo has said he would prefer to stay in the National League, but has also said he prefers a two or three-year deal.

Other possible pitchers have been rumored, and according to Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press, the names Gavin Floyd and Chris Capuano have come to the surface tonight.

Floyd, a former workhorse for the White Sox, underwent Tommy John surgery on May 7, but is ahead of schedule according to his agent, and barring setbacks could return in time for spring training.

The Orioles have reportedly also had interest in Floyd, who won 10-plus games five straight years for Chicago until last season's injury.

Capuano, 35, has played for three teams in the past four years and has had two Tommy John surgeries. He last pitched for the Dodgers, starting 20 games for LA in 2013.

Also, Minnesota was reportedly interested in former Cleveland center-fielding beast Grady Sizemore who has been out of baseball due to injuries since 2011.

But those good-Grady days appear to be pretty squarely in the rear-view mirror considering his 108 games played the last four years combined.
