The Minnesota Twins announced they have acquired minor league outfielder Daniel Palka from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for catcher Chris Herrman.

Herrman, 27, split last season between Minnesota and Triple-A Rochester. He is a career .181 hitter with six home runs and 33 RBIs, in 142 Major League games over four seasons between 2012-15.

Palka, 24, is a power-hitting outfield prospect. He spent last season in the California League with the Diamondbacks' Single-A Visalia Rawhide.

Palka appeared in 129 games and hit .280 with 36 doubles, 29 home runs, 90 RBIs, 95 runs scored and 24 stolen bases.

Fansided notes that Palka tripled his stolen base total in 2015, finishing with 24 successful stolen bases – compared to just eight in 2014.

Palka was drafted by Arizona in the third round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft. In parts of three minor league seasons, he is hitting .274 with 60 home runs and 220 RBIs in 315 games.

According to the Star Tribune, Palka, who has never played above Class A, was assigned to Salt River in the Arizona Fall League, where the left-hander is hitting .315 with two home runs in 15 games.
