Twins take 3 of 4 in Boston; back over .500

The Twins (16-15) are back above .500 after beating the Red Sox, 5-3 in Boston Thursday night.

Minnesota won three of four games in Boston against a Red Sox team that had the best record in baseball entering the series.

Oswaldo Arcia celebrated his birthday by going 2-4 with a triple and a big two-run homer to give the Twins a 5-2 lead in a four-run sixth inning. The first two runs of the inning came on an error an a sacrifice fly from Ryan Doumit.

Boston took a 2-0 lead with RBI singles from Dustin Pedroia in the third and Stephen Drew in the fourth.

An fifth inning double from Aaron Hicks scored Arcia for Minnesota's first run of the game.

Kevin Correia (4-2) didn't have his best stuff, but earned the win for the Twins. The right-hander allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings.

Minnesota's bullpen picked up th eslack with 3 2/3 shutout innings. Brian Duensing and Jared Burton gave way to Glen Perkins for a scoreless ninth and his eighth save of the season.

Note: Joe Mauer went 1-4 with three strikeouts. It's the second game this season Mauer has struck out three times.
