The Twins bounced back from losses in their first two games in Cleveland by winning the final game of the series 5-3 Sunday.
Josh Willingham and Oswaldo Arcia each drove in two runs to back the pitching of emergency call-up Pedro Hernandez and a hard-working bullpen.
Hernandez drove through the night and arrived in Cleveland at 4:30 a.m., the Pioneer Press reports, after pitcher Mike Pelfrey was sent to the disabled list with a back injury. Hernandez was the most rested starter on the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings, who were playing in Louisville.
But Hernandez' stay with the parent club was a brief one.
After the game the Twins announced they've called up their top pitching prospect, Kyle Gibson.
The Star Tribune reports Hernandez will be sent back to Rochester to make way for Gibson.
