Minnesota Twins 5

Texas Rangers 4

The Minnesota Twins (27-54) might be in last place in their division, but they beat a first place team twice in a row this weekend to win a series.

The Rangers (52-31) are currently outplaying other teams in American League West. The Twins lost 3-2 on Friday, then crushed Texas on Saturday by a dozen runs and won again Sunday. It's the first time the Rangers have lost a series in over a month.

Here are a few key highlights of the game:

Overturned Call

At first, it appeared that Eddie Rosario had "grounded out for an inning-ending, rally-killing double play in the fifth inning" described the Star Tribune.

But the Twins challenged the call, and the umpire decided that Rosario's foot did in fact make contact with first base before the ball was caught. That allow Brian Dozier's run to count, bringing the score to 5-2 in the fifth inning.

Dozier on fire

Speaking of Dozier, his bat has been hot in the month of June. He has had 23 hits in the last 15 games, scoring a total of 16 runs. His batting average is .417 for the last 7 games.

On Sunday, his triple in the third inning gave Minnesota the 2-1 lead. He then scored off of Robbie Grossman's single.
