The Twins are about to share the experience of the new Jackie Robinson film "42" with more than 600 teens from the Twin Cities.

The club said in a press release Friday that it is hosting private screenings of the film Monday at three different Twin Cities theaters.

Major League Baseball announced earlier this week that all 30 clubs in the league would be screen the hit film for free for teens grade 8 through 12 across the country.

The first screening was scheduled for Tuesday night in Milwaukee, which was attended by MLB commissioner Bud Selig and Jackie Robinson’s daughter, Sharon Robinson — who is a MLB Educational Programming consultant.

Students after the screenings have been invited to share their thoughts about the film at Iam42.com.

Starring Chadwick Boseman as Jackie Robinson and Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey, "42" chronicles Robinson's life from 1947-49, the time period in which he was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers executive and began his career as the first African American player to break MLB's color barrier.

Selig told MLB.com that "'42' brilliantly depicts not only the proudest and most powerful event in baseball history,” which he called "a watershed moment in American history and the civil rights movement."

One of Twins makes a cameo at the end of "42," which showed footage of the league today.

At the end of the film, there's a shot of Twins star Justin Morneau running onto the field wearing No. 42 on Jackie Robinson Day, where all players wear the baseball legend's number.
